When we are busy, excited and exhilarated about putting together our wedding ceremony, we may not necessarily think of the word “compromise”, or what it means and how very important it is when we bring people together.
Most of us have a dream, a perfectly thought out experience that will leave our friends and family in awe of our perfect wedding day. And why not?! It’s our special day!
But, have you considered how your guests will feel, indeed, how YOU will feel, if an antarctic breeze is blowing you away on the beach? Or if the temperature is topping 40° and you and your guests are passing out from heat stroke? I know it can be a challenge to have a Plan B in place but it really is crucial, especially in Melbourne!
Most venues provide indoor alternatives that are readily accessible. For more remote locations (I officiated at a wonderful ceremony on a very exposed clifftop at Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula) the humble umbrella not only keeps the rain off but also the sun. Rugs for chilly weather also work really well. Comfortable guests are happy guests and the memories will be all the sweeter if you’ve put thought into their experience too!
